Drommedaris
This imposing tower from 1540 was once a city gate and defensive structure on the southern side of Enkhuizen. Today, the Drommedaris is a vibrant cultural center with concerts, exhibitions, and film screenings. The tower is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks and offers a beautiful view over the harbor.
Harbors
The harbors of Enkhuizen are the beating heart of the city. Historic ships and modern yachts moor here, and you can enjoy a lovely stroll along the quays. Take in the lively atmosphere, the old warehouses, and the views over Lake IJsselmeer.
Snouck van Loosen Park

Enkhuizen is goed bereikbaar per auto en openbaar vervoer. Vanaf het station, dat net buiten het stadshart ligt, is het ongeveer 8 minuten lopen naar het SuyderSee Hotel.
Enkhuizen staat bekend om zijn historische gebouwen en musea, zoals het Zuiderzeemuseum, de Sprookjestuin, de Drommedaris en de historische binnenstad.
Enkhuizen heeft een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de middeleeuwen. Het was een belangrijke havenstad en speelde een cruciale rol in de Zuiderzeevisserij en de handel tijdens de Gouden Eeuw.
Enkhuizen is goed bereikbaar met de auto via de A7 en met het openbaar vervoer, met directe treinverbindingen vanuit Amsterdam en andere steden.
Voor kinderen is er onder andere het Zuiderzeemuseum, waar ze kunnen leren over de geschiedenis van de regio, en de Sprookjestuin, een leuke plek voor jonge kinderen.
De beste tijd om Enkhuizen te bezoeken is in de lente en zomer, wanneer het weer aangenaam is en veel van de buitenactiviteiten en musea open zijn. De stad is het hele jaar door aantrekkelijk, maar de zomermaanden bieden de meeste mogelijkheden voor activiteiten en evenementen.
